Enhancing the spiritual life of our parish

The Sacraments we celebrate foster and enhance the spiritual life of our parish, and diverse liturgies and programs encourage spiritual development opportunities for all our members.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

"Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion" are laity who assist the clergy in the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass, and are able to take Holy Communion to those who are home-bound or sick.

Our parish has guidelines for Extraordinary Ministers. All EMHCs are asked to follow this guide. If you are interested in becoming an EMHC, contact the parish office.  The guidelines are at this link.

Altar Servers

Serving at Mass and other liturgies is an important role because the server is assisting, not just the priest, but the whole worshipping community. Hence, altar servers are called to be aware of their role and their responsibility in performing it well.

Altar server training begins in fifth grade.  If interested, please contact the Parish Office.

Offertory Families

Families in our parish are invited to volunteer as Offertory Families, who present gifts at the altar during Mass.

If your family is interested in taking the gifts up at Mass, please contact the Parish Office.

Ushers

Ushers assist the faithful before and during Mass, taking up the collection and distributing bulletins after Masses.

If you are interested in serving as an Usher at Mass, please contact the Parish Office.

Lectors

Lectors are readers, who proclaim the Word of God at liturgies. All new lectors will have a training session prior to being assigned.

If you are interested in becoming a Lector, please contact the Parish Office.

Greeters

Greeters welcome parishioners and visitors to St. George before Mass. These are the first faces our parishioners and visitors see when they enter our Parish church for Mass.

We hope to provide a welcoming, joyful entrance to our church through greeters who reach out to open doors and say, "Hello!" to all who enter.

MATTHEW 26:40

St. George Parish offers exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at various times during the year.  The faithful are always welcome to adore the Blessed Sacrament in the Tabernacle.
